Photographing chamber music

I was recommended to some of the Chamber folks by a former director, whom I knew through my connections at another nonprofit in town. I was not sure I could handle the assignment; I needed to be absolutely silent - mirrorless camera, and could only move left-right from the back of the room, so as not to disturb the audience.

I had only a Nikon Z6II and a 70-200mm. I offered to shoot the first for free, and if the results were to satisfaction, I would be paid and continue through the series of events. Well, look at the results. The venue had a quality of light that approached the Old Masters of European painting. I am so pleased with what I was able to capture. Flirting with ISOs between 2000 and 3000, trying to pick peak moments but not risking blur. I would take 1000 images a night, process them by morning.

Intense, creative ... this was another peak moment in my career.
