Color is just starting ...
But accelerating quickly. The rain seems to be both helping and hurting. Helping the change, but also stripping the mature leaves. Last year was spectacular, 'classic' autumn. This time, I'm diving into the change itself, the switch from green to yellow, and enjoying every view.
And, to get shots like these, you really have to get high. My quads and lungs are hurting. I didn't have the time this year to acclimate to effort at high altitude - my very, very bad. Searing lungs, screaming quads. But look at what I'm seeing! Worth every pain. See previous post, doing "hard things." THAT.
