This cabin is no more

Just north of Mora on 434, past the alpaca ranch. It eventually rotted, even the adobes were removed and repurposed. I used to always stop here, walking to angle myself so I could see no other buildings. Try to imagine what it was like to live here, in the quiet beauty and exquisite isolation. Personally, I would have tried to save it ... move it closer to those mountains in the background. But that's me. Farming in NM can be pretty hardscrabble, so I expect such building materials are highly prized. So consider this a belated RIP to that lovely site.
